Where did that hair come from?
December 16, 2009 by Shannon
One of the first things people notice about my family is that Kellan looks noticeably different from his parents in one key area — his hair. He is very blonde. And in spite of the epidemic of gray I have on my head, I am quite brunette. My husband is unquestionably brunette as well. (And he has maybe one gray hair on his head, the jerk.) So how did we end up with such a blondie? According to our parents, we were both fair-haired as kids. So I suppose there’s still a chance Kellan could change and look a bit more like our offspring. Until then, I decided to experiment with one of the handy, dandy wigs (or “wags,” as Kellan likes to call them) and imagine what he might look like as a brunette:

Yikes. Maybe I’m okay with the blonde after all.

Oh, he’s so cute!! That’s how my husband was when he was little. Super blonde and now he’s very dark brown. Me, on the other hand… I’m blonde and have been all my life and my parents are both very dark brown, nearly black haired folks! It could go either way!
He will definitely be a cutie though! How could he not?!

AHAHAHAHAHAHA! Priceless. Thank goodness he is a gorgeous child otherwise this photo might have been a tragedy. Either way, this is excellent bribing material for the future.
My Dad’s hair was almost white when he was a kid, then super black until his late 40’s when he started going gray.
He’s still a cutie but I prefer the blonde!
He’d be a great brunette too, but that wag makes him look like one of the Beatles!
