Typo Patrol: Feeling “abadoned”
April 30, 2010 by Shannon
Well, darn it. I’m not feeling too victorious about this typo discovery. I just feel bad about it. I really like the publication I found it in, so in a weird way, I just feel sorry for the editor who probably got chewed out for letting the error go to print. And two, it’s in a story about adoption. So sadly, it distracts a bit from the seriousness of the piece. And three, it’s in a quote. In my book, that’s one of the biggest typo no-no’s there is. Bummer.
But, being the true typo hunter that I am, I can’t just let it pass without notice. No, I must….I will….seek out and publicize any and all typos as I find them. That is my (ridiculous and obsessive) mission. That said, take a look at the photo on the left, and you’ll see what I mean.
“I couldn’t stop thinking about all the kids who had been abadoned (sic) by their families.”
See what I mean? I just can’t stop thinking about the Parents magazine editor who undoubtedly got in trouble for this one. Oh well. You live, you learn to use Spell Check.

Shannon - I really wanted to get a picture of the tv for you a couple of months ago, but wasn’t quick enough. CNN was filming from “Bosie, Idaho” on a story about the missionaries in Haiti.
