The Notebook
November 10, 2009 by Shannon
I was one of those kids that got a little bit giddy about start of the school year, because I couldn’t wait to amass a deskful of new school supplies. There is just something about a freshly sharpened pencil, brand new ballpoint pen and a crisp new notebook. And wouldn’t you know it, I still feel the same way. I bought some notebooks a few months ago for Kellan to scribble in during our trip to the Oregon Coast. One of them, I kept for myself. And I ADORE it. I use it every day.
It’s nothing special — just a wide-ruled, 70 sheet spiral notebook — but it has become a little buddy that helps me get through my day. I jot down recipe ideas and notes, to do lists, blog post ideas, notes for my freelance writing projects, and even little sketches. (I need to start keeping it near my bed at night, so I can write down all those annoying random thoughts that have been bugging me lately.)
Want to take a peek inside? Well, let me just warn you. This is some riveting stuff. To me, at least. Here it is!

Where do you keep your thoughts, ideas and to do lists?

Oooh, isn’t there always such beauty in your very own notebook? Although I hate starting notebooks - they look so pretty and pristine, and then I know that I’ll fill them with rubbish and they won’t be beautiful anymore…
So, I like to-do lists. Then you get the added pleasure of screwing them up afterwards!
Hope you’re having a good week Shannon,

I have been a list junkie most of my life. I was making to do lists in grade school, and I still keep notebooks for to do and household budgeting stuff. Keeps me sane.
