The Big Move: Still sick, still no finished bathrooms
June 23, 2010 by Shannon
You know the movie “Groundhog Day” where Bill Murray wakes up to the exact same day over and over and over? I kinda feel like Bill Murray right now.
I AM STILL SICK.
And, neither of the two bathrooms are finished yet.
I can think of several choice words to describe how I feel about both situations, but I’ll spare you the profanity. To be honest, part of the bathroom problem (at least in one of them) is that we forgot to buy a particular type of drain that was needed for the sink. So that required a special order, and more waiting. So we have no working sink in there. In the master bath, we have a working sink and a working toilet…but no shower enclosure. That means we’re still showering in the downstairs bathroom. The downstairs bathroom – which is a haven for frighteningly disgusting spiders. So yeah….I really, really want these bathrooms done. Like yesterday.
But aside from the unfinished bathrooms and spider issue…the illness! Good lord, I think I’ve paid my dues by now….when can I stop blowing my nose every five minutes?!?! I’m really sick of being a mouthbreather. You can bet I’m going to be demanding some relief (ie. medication) at my OB appointment today.
So. That’s why I’m only posting once a week at this point. I’m sick, I’m tired, and there are no pretty bathrooms to show you.
However….the kitchen appliances seem to be staging a major revolt. I suppose they miss their former owners, because they apparently HATE me. Remind me to tell you about that when my head stops throbbing.

I hope you start feeling better soon. And I hope you get a shower enclosure soon so you don’t have to shower with spiders. Yikes. Does Enzo eat them like Shen did?
Sometimes. But he’s a totally unreliable spider killer.
Shannon, Jossy and I are just now getting over a crud that we had for 2 weeks. I think the worst thing was my temper! I was a mean old coot and am probably lucky I am still married!
I finally took some cough medicine for a few nights that my Dr. gave me, and got some MUCH needed rest.
Hope you get some soon too! Please let me know if I can do anything or bring you anything.
And a good company to help with spiders is Advantix. When we had our remodeling done, we had a huge spider problem too. We used them for a year, but now haven’t used them for almost another year (I really don’t enjoy killing anything but certain insects are the exception sometimes!), and haven’t had a problem in the house…
I hope you are feeling better by now! I can’t imagine how tired and frustrated you must be. Come on…who needs a shower anyway?! Just skip it.
I’m writing this on July 2nd in the hopes that… by now… you are NO LONGER SICK! Poor you!
