Take my word on these typos
June 15, 2009 by Shannon
I spotted a couple of typos during my Internet wanderings over the past couple of days, and got so excited to share them! (I am such a spelling nerd. I know.) Then I noticed big ol’ copyright notices near the errors. I don’t want to get myself sued, so I’m not going to post pictures or tell you where I found them. You’ll just have to take my word that these typos do exist.
- Wanter — instead of water (thanks to my brother-in-law for tipping me off to this one)
- Palate – instead of pallet
As for number one, obviously a sneaky “N” worked its way in there. However, palate was used in the completely wrong context. The author meant to refer to a pallet — a wood contraption used for transporting goods — but instead used a word meaning “roof of the mouth.”
Copyright or not, the Typo Patrol is always watching.

The “palate person” is clearly just hooked on phonics. And yes, it takes one to know one!
