So here’s the deal…

You know that ambiguous post about life’s changing seasons, where I mentioned that I have a bit of a change on the horizon? No, I’m not pregnant again. Here’s the deal: I’m going to return to my old job for a while. Again. (I helped fill in for a bit in 2010 and had a total blast! Here’s a look inside the Fox 12 newsroom in case you missed it.)
Fox 12 asked me to come back and help out while one of their main anchors is on leave. After some careful consideration, I said yes, mostly because my work hours will be brief. I won’t be helping produce the show this time – I’ll just be going in to anchor. That means I’ll be working when the kids are asleep, so I won’t be missing out on anything with them. They’ll hardly know I’m gone.
So that’s the deal! Things might be a little crazy during this time period, since I’m still going to be working my part-time job. But with a little assistance from our kids’ super awesome and helpful grandparents and maybe a few more working hours on Saturday and Sunday nights, I’m pretty sure I can pull this off. At least I hope so.

Good for you! I think it’s awesome that you’re able to keep a hand in what you were doing, that it hasn’t been “all or nothing.” It’s like you get the best of both worlds. Good luck & post some clips on your blog for those of us who aren’t local!

Shannon, long time no talk — so happy to hear you’re filling in while Kiaora’s on maternity leave! It will be great seeing your face at the ol’ Fox 12 again. I just wish we would have the chance to see each other, but unless you pop by around 4 AM, probably not gonna happen. :o) Hope all is well with you, your little girl is adorable!
