Typo Patrol: On Canada and mushrooms
September 11, 2009 by Shannon
As much as I love the idea of buying local, I have to admit: I don’t do it as often as I should or would like to. But had I purchased a locally produced package of mushrooms instead of these ’shrooms from our neighbors to the north, I wouldn’t have found this typo!
Refrigerator certainly isn’t the simplest word to spell. Neither is refrigerate, for that matter. But one glance at this package should tell you something’s off.
Let’s take a closer look, shall we?

Whoops! There it is: refridgerate.
It’s kinda fun to say it the way it’s spelled there. Re-frid-ger-ate. Sounds all hokey and ridiculous. Ha! That’s funny. Re-frid-ger-ate.
And as if that little error weren’t delightful enough, I got downright giddy when a fellow typo lover passed along yet another Canadian-related mushroom typo! (Two typos concerning Canada and mushrooms in ONE WEEK. Okay, something is definitely wrong with me because this totally made my week.) My thanks to Dominique, who also shares my affinity for a certain typo-littered chopstick wrapper. (Or should I say, CHOPSTLCK?) And without further ado…

Dominique found this Cananda typo while shopping for mushrooms at the Albertsons on 16th and State in Boise. “Not sure I’ve heard of such a mushroomy place!” she wrote in her email. I have to say, neither have I!
