Green Slime Smoothie
May 8, 2009 by Shannon

The Green Slime Smoothie is the perfect way to get a big green veggie dose into a kid’s belly.
It’s great for parents, too. Especially when you know you’ve been hitting the drive thru a little too often, or when you feel a cold coming on. Most of my friends think I’m crazy, but it really is delicious. Try it! You’ll like it!
I like to serve this on hot summer days, of course, but also for St. Patrick’s Day. It really couldn’t be any simpler to make — just three ingredients, some ice and a blender and you’re set.
Green Slime Smoothie
Serves 2
- 1 banana
- 2 cups chopped kale
- 1/2 cup cold vanilla soy milk
- handful of ice cubes
- 1 tablespoon ground flax meal (optional)
Just blend, and serve with a straw.

thanks Shan for this yummy recipe! We love it here in the Johnson household. The first time we made it we added maple syrup- yum! and I have been experimenting with adding blueberries or frozen peaches too!
