And….we’re back

January 4, 2010 by Shannon

Hello and welcome to AnchorMommy, 2010 style. I’m not exactly sure what that means. But whatever, it sounds cool.

I’ve missed you, my friends! My Christmas blogging break was quite nice. Busy, but nice. We did all the usual Christmas stuff — last-minute shopping and gift wrapping, cookie baking, cleaning, cooking — as well as driving around to visit family. We had a great time.

Because I’m still pretty wiped out from it all, here’s a brief rundown of how the past week and a half or so has gone.

  1. Yes, Santa brought Kellan his much-wanted drum set.
  2. The drum set has not melted my eardrums yet. Yet.
  3. I am going to try to overcome the bad relationship I have with sewing machines. My mom’s machine despises me, but I’m hoping the new Singer Curvy Sewing Machine I got for Christmas will be more forgiving.
  4. Kellan has acquired a bit of fear on the ski slopes. But he has also learned to get past the fear — that’s huge! He’s even correcting his skis (not quite turning, but correcting) a little bit.
  5. Enzo’s buttlocks (in other words, the dreadlocks he develops on his back legs by his butt) developed a hanger-on. A large, orange-sized snowball encased one of his buttlocks while he was romping in the snow and Michael had to cut the thing off. Frozen precipitation and dog hair has never repulsed me so much.

Isn’t that creepy-looking? Ewww.

Anyway, I hope you had a wonderful holiday season! Here’s to a new year and a new decade! Happy 2010!!!

I find my sewing machine and I do okay as long as I have an easy pattern and very very very good directions. :)
