A perfect last day

What’s the first thing you always plan to bring for a big event and always forget? Yep, I forgot to bring my camera to my last day at work yesterday.
But that’s okay. The memories I have will always be with me. It was a perfect day. I had just enough work to keep me busy, but not so much that I couldn’t focus on saying my goodbyes and cleaning out my desk. (Ooh, I just remembered I was going to dust it! Whoops.)
I can’t say enough thanks to the people at Fox 12, and the loyal viewers of Fox 12 News at Nine. I’m proud of my eight year run at the station, and I’m even more proud of how the news department has grown and changed. It’s full of fun and dedicated people, people I am honored to call friends.
I know only good things are ahead from here on out. Because if there’s one thing I learned at Fox 12, it’s that change can be tough and gut wrenching. But it’s also the best way to grow.

It has been such a pleasure working with you for the past eight years.
We’ve had some great times, and I’m going to totally miss the laughs (especially the random mid-newscast giggle fits).
I know you made the right choice for you and your family, but know how much I’ll miss working next to you every day.
By the way, I love the AnchorMommy site. It looks great.

The hardest part is over…well at least the hardest work related part.
You did it!
I enjoyed my time at Fox 12 with you too! I’m so happy for anchormommy.com! It looks great and I know it’s going to be a huge hit!
You handled your on-air goodbye so well, Shan! You’re the consummate professional. :o) It’s so weird seeing your desk all empty, but I am super excited for you and the adventure you’re embarking on. I’ll be following along through this incredible site you’ve put together, can’t wait to watch it grow and evolve.
Hope your first two days of “stay-at-home-momdom” went well!
Hi Shannon. Do I remember you as an intern at KTVB? (If I’m wrong, I was there for about 6 years before getting the boot in August, 2000. Filled in as a producer there at Fox before landing on my feet in Shreveport)
I know that was a tough decision to leave your job at Fox. I’ll bet you did an awesome job. I enjoyed checking out your blog and I’ll come back. Thanks for following on Twitter.
I’m bummed I was out of town and missed your last day at Fox 12. You will be definately be missed.
I love AnchorMommy. So many of your articles are hilarious. I’ll be checking back often.
Congrats on it and being a stay at home mom.
