A little known baby name
July 17, 2009 by Shannon

Betcha haven’t heard of this “popular” baby name — Eizabeth.
I found this error while perusing a locally-produced, free baby magazine. The issue featured a list titled, Most Popular Baby Names of 2008.
According to the list, Eizabeth was the ninth most popular name in 2008. And way down in the fine print it reads, “Each unique spelling in the sample is considered a unique name.” Eizabeth is unique, all right. It’s just not correct.
The magazine cited the Social Security Department as its source for the list, and one quick visit to their website produced the correct version of the most popular female baby names last year. Right there at number 9? Elizabeth — with the L right where it should be.
