Oops! It’s another typo!

August 14, 2009 by Shannon  |  4 Comments

Oops! It's another typo!

This is another case of an unnecessary apostrophe.

My thanks go out to AnchorMommy reader Sandy Larsen for this one. Sandy found the error while reading the online user’s manual for her new Samsung Impression cell phone. (I have to hand it to you, Sandy — you actually read the manual. Online, no less.)

Giggle fits: on-air and off

If you asked some of my former co-workers about what it was like to work with me, I would hope they would say I was a team player and a professional who liked to get the job done.

But I’m pretty sure somebody would mention the giggle fits.

I have a propensity to giggle uncontrollably in the most inappropriate of situations. Which is not a great quality for a news anchor to have, really.

Psst! Toy cleanup tip: the Fairy Hiccup works miracles

I have come to the conclusion that children’s toys are a blessing and a curse. On one hand, they keep Kellan entertained. On the other, they replicate like rabbits all over the floor, and cause me to curse under my breath when I step on them. Toys are not easy on the feet.

Huckleberry Pizza with Endive and Arugula

You saw my previous Huckleberry Pizza post, right? Well, I just couldn’t help but wonder how huckleberries would fare on a more savory pizza. So of course, I just had to try it.

Turns out, huckleberries are quite fantastic with some leafy greens and parmesan. Really.

A very lonely toilet

Oh, the joy I felt when Kellan expressed interest in the potty at 18 months and actually PEED in the toilet. I immediately pictured the two of us reading potty books together everyday as Kellan happily deposited number ones and number twos.

Our favorite children’s books

Our favorite children's books

I think Kellan has more books than toys. And frankly, I like that arrangement just fine. These days, it’s a little tougher to get him to sit down for more than 10 seconds so we can read something together, but he still does from time to time. And we always read before lights out.

These are a few of our favorite and highly recommended books — the ones we reach for over and over again.

Huckleberry Pizza

I thought I found Huckleberry Heaven up in the mountains this weekend. But once I got the delectable little berries into my kitchen, I discovered Huckleberry Nirvana. Here’s why: Sweet Huckleberry Pizza.

Huckleberry Heaven

There are two things I love about living so close to the mountains: morel hunting in the spring and huckleberry picking in the summer. And this year, the huckleberry population is exploding!!!

Mad for cows, “nipples” and all

Mad for cows,

I never thought I would share an obsession with a two-year-old. But recently, I spent about two hours of my life driving around pastures, looking for cows.
